These standalone services are offered by arrangement, usually after you've talked with the attorney and settled on something narrower or deeper than a full package. If you're comparing options for the first time, start with the packages instead. They bundle the search, the application, and more, for less than the pieces cost separately.
U.S. Knockout Search
- Attorney-run knockout search of the U.S. federal register for one mark
- Covers up to three classes of goods/services; searching four to six classes is $1,245
- A written risk assessment covering what we found and our professional judgment of the risk
- No search-vendor or add-on fees
- Delivered by email; the engagement concludes with your assessment
U.S. Clearance Search & Analysis
- Comprehensive attorney-run search for one mark, covering the U.S. federal register plus state and common-law sources
- Covers up to three classes of goods/services; searching four to six classes is $2,295
- Typically delivered within about a week, though complex marks can take longer
- A written risk assessment covering what we found and our professional judgment of the risk
- No search-vendor or add-on fees
- Delivered by email; the engagement concludes with your assessment
Trademark Application
- One federal application for one mark, in use or intent to use, at the same price
- Attorney work for one class of goods/services; the class’s $350 USPTO filing fee is separate and collected at sign-up
- Goods & services descriptions written to USPTO standards
- Responses to non-substantive office actions included
- Prepared by the attorney and filed on your go-ahead
What the standalone application does not include
It does not include a search. Filing without one means accepting the risk of refusals or conflicts that a search might have caught, so before we file we'll ask you to sign a short written acknowledgment of that choice. If you'd rather search first, add the knockout search or choose a package, which includes one.
The $350 USPTO filing fee applies to every class of the application and is collected into trust. We collect it for the included class at sign-up and for any other classes before filing. Classes beyond the included one add $250 in attorney fees plus the USPTO fee each. After filing, responses to non-substantive office actions are included; substantive office actions are quoted separately if they arise. Every engagement begins with your acceptance of our terms of engagement and a conflicts check.
